If you are a man or woman experiencing hair loss, Dr. Scott’s PRP Hair Restoration Procedure may be for you.
DR. SCOTT’S HAIR RESTORATION PROTOCOL
What is the PRP Hair Restoration Procedure?
Our blood is made of red blood cells and plasma. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors. These growth factors stimulate your body’s natural regenerative processes. In the scalp, that means it stimulates the activity of hair follicles and promotes new hair growth.
The PRP Hair Restoration procedure utilizes your own platelet-rich plasma to increase the hair count, hair thickness, and growth phase of the hair.
How Is PRP Hair Restoration Performed?
- First, we draw blood from your arm and spin it in a specialized centrifuge to separate out the red blood cells from the plasma. It then continues to spin, concentrating the platelets within the plasma. We use the Magellan centrifuge system because we are able to utilize 180 cc’s of blood to concentrate your platelets. This is a big part of our success because the more blood you can use, the higher the concentration of platelets you can obtain; the more platelets you have, the more growth factors. In order for angiogenesis (growth of blood vessels) to occur, there has to be a minimum number of platelets involved, and a lot of machines do not obtain these numbers.
- While the blood is being prepared, a numbing cream will be applied to your scalp. Once the scalp is numb, I’ll inject it with a local anesthetic before the PRP injections. This gives you the most pain-free experience possible. Should you still be uncomfortable, which is unusual, we can provide inhalational Pronox.
- Dr. Scott is always looking for the most effective treatments and a combination of treatments available. He has found optimal results in hair restoration, in both men and women, by combining treatments. Therefore, he does not only inject PRP; he uses a proprietary formula to increase the hair count, thickness, and growth phase of the hair. Next, PRP is dripped over the scalp while micro-needling is performed. Post-procedure, we’ll have you begin a proven oral supplement, along with a specially compounded spray that Dr. Scott has specially compounded for his patients.
How Long Does the Treatment Take?
It will take approximately 2 hours.
How many treatments are required?
We have found the best results occur with a series of 3 treatments 4-6 weeks apart. Each one builds upon the last.
When will I see the results?
Most start seeing results within 2-3 months.
