]]> Menopause is a normal, natural event – it just doesn’t feel so normal or natural.

It is defined as the final menstrual period and usually confirmed when a woman has missed her periods for 12 consecutive months (in the absence of other obvious causes). Menopause is associated with reduced functioning of the ovaries due to aging, resulting in lower levels of estrogen and other hormones. It marks the permanent end of fertility. Menopause occurs, on average, at age 51 and brings a host of symptoms you may not be ready for.  If you think you are having symptoms but don’t know for sure that its menopause, your doctor will want to run blood work . 

Our menopause panel contains common tests used by Doctors to determine if you are in menopause .

If you’re still getting a period, most doctors recommend that you get your blood levels taken on the third day of your period.   If you no longer are getting a period, then you can get tested at any time.
