Many women suffer from urinary incontinence, painful intercourse and a loss of sexual function. One in 20 women over the age of 20 experience urinary incontinence, and it significantly affects their lives. As an Ob/Gyn, I know the steps these women go through to minimize the symptoms. Limiting water intake, going to the bathroom every 1-2 hours, wearing protective pads, doing Kegel exercises, and ultimately trying anticholinergic drugs whose side effects are dry mouth, constipation, and feeling fuzzy-headed.

In addition to urinary incontinence, a loss of sexual function, whether from low sexual desire, lack of arousal, female orgasm disorder, dyspareunia ( painful intercourse) can negatively impact your life and relationships.

The O-Shot has been very effective in restoring sensation and increasing sexual pleasure and quality of orgasms.

Additionally, women who suffer from lichen sclerosis may have new hope with  PRP as a possible break-through therapy for this disease. Women who suffer from lichen sclerosis often go years without the ability to have sexual relations can be left with permanent scarring, and have a 5-10% increased risk of suffering with vulvar cancer.  You can learn more about this disease HERE.

Of course, we know that for you to experience the best results possible, hormones need to be at their optimal levels, as well as be balanced with regards to each other.  At your initial visit, Dr. Scott will take a complete history, suggest appropriate laboratory testing, and then discuss with you whether you may benefit from hormone supplementation.

The O-Shot is a natural and safe way of addressing the physical causes of sexual dysfunction and urinary incontinence.

The results of recommended treatment can be life changing, enhancing your ability to enjoy life!

The O-Shot procedure begins with the patient having their blood drawn.  The blood is then treated to extract the platelet-containing growth factors in the plasma.  The platelet-rich plasma is then injected back into the patient after the area is numbed with an anesthetic cream and an injected local anesthetic.  The injections are placed near the clitoris and into a very specific area of the vagina. There is little or no discomfort to the procedure.  Remember, it’s important to have your hormones at optimal levels, and balanced, for you to realize your best results.

What patients have said after the procedure:

  • Greater arousal and/or more frequent orgasm
  • Increased sexual desire
  • Increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm
  • Decreased pain for those with dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
  • Increased natural lubrication
  • Decreased urinary incontinence (in >70% of patients)

The procedure takes 30 minutes and the results can last around 18 months, varying with each individual.   Best results are obtained with a series of 2-3 injections, given at 8-week intervals.

What are the Vampire Procedures?

The underlying premise is the same for all of the Vampire Procedures. Blood is drawn from the patient’s arm, and that blood is placed in a very specialized centrifuge. This centrifuge first separates the red blood cells from the plasma. Then, it concentrates the platelets. We then utilize this platelet rich plasma (PRP). These platelets contain growth factors that stimulate your own body to regenerate tissue within the area injected. It attracts and “fertilizes” stem cells to become collagen, elastin, blood vessels, adipose tissue, etc. (depending on the area where it’s injected). As an example, if it’s injected into a knee, it will cause the growth of cartilage tissue.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) has been used in dentistry and in orthopedics for years. Sports stars such as Tiger Wood and Peyton Manning have shortened their wound healing time considerably using this procedure.

In my practice, I am using platelet rich plasma to regenerate tissue in aesthetics (the Vampire Facelift and Facial), in men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (the P-shot), in women to help with sexual issues and urinary incontinence (the O-shot), as well as to help restore breast volume and shape (the Vampire Breast Lift). I have also been using PRP in both women and men, to restore hair growth (the Vampire Hair Restoration Procedure). The PRP that’s injected resorbs within 3-5 days. Then in about 2-4 weeks tissue growth begins, with maximal results being seen at 3 months. The duration of effect is between 12-24 months, depending on the individual and which procedure is chosen.
